The Future Of Aviation Industry Through Smart Design

In the midst of a pandemic with no cure, and a need to re-establish global travels, reassuring travelers that flying is safe lies in the hands of the aviation industry. How can the aviation business move forward, armed with strategies that will revive travelers’ trust in aviation? One of the best answers is smart design.

Anyone in the aviation industry can say that the effects of COVID-19 are unprecedented. The virus has effortlessly halted travel, excursions, and dream trips. The stigma of being inside an enclosed space with 200 strangers is something potential passengers can’t shake off.

What is smart design? This unique use of design is defined as designing a space where people can feel at ease, comfortable, and safe. Is this not what passengers are going to want to feel once they settle on their seats? Marketing the aviation experience is no longer about offering the best prices and the champion deals. Today, to reach out to possible customers, the aviation business needs to focus on connecting with the customer’s worries. Conveying the message “We’re here, and we’re going to do all we can to keep you safe” through design is one of the best steps aviation businesses can make.

Brand Reference through Space Branding.

It’s too early for airlines to promise that they can guarantee the plane and airports are 100% safe. But airline providers can tap into the need of customers for guardians – a business that can reassure them they will be protected the best way possible. Space branding can deliver this through carefully thought-of designs that will immediately make customers feel at ease. A welcoming atmosphere, a well-laid out space, and designs that make guidelines on rules and safety clearer can make a difference.

Transparency on safety.

Strengthen your promise of ensuring passenger safety with transparency. It’s not enough to show them the commitment – you need to show them how. Airlines can communicate these safety plans through giving passengers a glimpse of updated designs for passenger safety; an idea of how hygienic processes will be done; and a visual evidence of how airlines are going to revamp air travel (shown through 3D designs, and prototypes). Building credibility via transparency can increase a potential customer’s confidence towards traveling.

Establishing a health-oriented approach.

Providing clear health guidelines to ensure passenger safety while on board is going to be important to potential passengers. Including “health” kits, and safety kits into the mix should be a new priority in the new normal of aviation. Connecting to that human need to feel safe should be one of the target focuses in an aviation business’ marketing plan.
